Parent Education

Vaccine-preventable disease levels are at or near record lows due in large part to immunization. Even though most children have received all recommended vaccines by age two, many under-immunized children remain, leaving the potential for disease outbreaks. In order to maintain high levels of protection and reduce the potential for disease outbreaks, we must continue to vaccinate.

Vaccines in the United States are held to the highest standard of safety and are continually monitored for safety and effectiveness. Yet, like any medication, vaccines can cause side effects. Visit the resources listed under Parent Education for more information about vaccines and vaccine issues to make an informed decision about immunization.
