The Utah Adult Immunization Coalition was formed in 1999 to improve immunization rates in adults 18 years of age and older.The UAIC is comprised of representatives from the public and private sectors such as local and state health departments, Aging and Adult Services, Intermountain Healthcare, University of Utah Healthcare, Utah Hospital Association, Comagine, and various pharmaceutical organizations.
In conjunction with the ECBT Immunization Coalition, regional coalitions work at the grass roots level to address immunization issues. Their missions coincide with the statewide statewide ECBT Coalition’s mission to implement strategies that increase immunization levels among children two years of age and under. Some coalitions include adolescent immunization activities. Activities focus on the specific regions represented in the Coalitions.
The Northern Utah Immunization Coalition (NUIC) was formed in 1993 to address the low immunization levels among two-year-olds in the northern counties of Weber, Morgan, and Davis. The Coalition’s mission is to promote early childhood and adolescent immunizations and educate the community through effective action and leadership. Adult activities are also included. It is comprised of a chairperson and individuals representing county/city schools, pediatrician’s offices, childcare centers, the Ogden Junior League, the PTA, the local health department and the local hospital.
The Southwest Immunization Coalition for Children (SWICC) is a regional coalition dedicated to protecting the health of children through immunizations in Beaver, Garfield, Iron, Kane and Washington counties. Founded in January 2006, SWICC is a nonprofit partnership of state and local health departments, Washington County School District, Dixie State College, primary care providers and vaccine representatives. The Coalition was created to address the low immunization rates among two-year olds in Southwestern region of Utah.
The TriCounty Coalition was formed in April 2012 to further immunization efforts among the providers in Uintah, Daggett, and Duchesne Counties. The Coalition’s mission is to improve immunization rates across all age groups in the three counties, and provide education to their communities about vaccine safety to decrease the spread of vaccine-preventable diseases. Coalition membership consists of public and private organizations who are dedicated to serving their communities.
The goal of the Utah County Immunization Coalition is to implement programs that will decrease communicable diseases by increasing timely vaccinations among Utah County infants, children, adolescents and adults. Coalition was organized in 2006 and is comprised of public and private organizations dedicated to increasing the number of adequately immunized infants, children, adolescents and adults and addressing parental concerns in Utah County.
